IN less than three months, the official Facebook page of the Valenzuela Police Station was hacked twice, effectively cutting the communication line being used by local folks in reporting crimes.

“This is to inform the public that the official Facebook page of the Valenzuela City Police Station has been hacked. The administrators do not have access to the account as of the moment,” Valenzuela City police chief Col. Salvador Destura Jr. said in an advisory shared in city-based social media groups.

The hackers, Destura said, filled their FB page with indecent videos of women dancing, fixing a car, and in a parlor, among others. The first lewd video was posted at about 10 p.m. on Monday, while the last was posted at 3 a.m. the following day.

As such, the police chief urged the public to refrain from engaging with the hacked account and temporarily check the Valenzuela City Police Station PIO page for updates.

“Updates and announcements will temporarily be posted on the Facebook page of ‘Valenzuela City Police Station PIO’ until the hacked account is recovered,” he said.
“We apologize for this incident. Thank you for your understanding,” he added.

In November last year, the same Facebook page was also taken hostage by still unidentified hackers. The hacker allegedly used the account to conduct “suspicious activities” and send out “suspicious messages or posts.”
