The University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the local government units of Calauan, Nagcarlan, and Rizal in Laguna for the implementation of the Barangay Integrated Development Approach for Nutrition Improvement or BIDANI program.

The signing was led by UPLB Chancellor Jose Camacho Jr, BIDANI Director Clarissa Juanico, Nagcarlan Mayor Elmor Vita, Rizal Municipal Admin Isagani Visey, and Calauan Municipal Planning Development Coordinator Engr. Regina Rocero.

“These partnerships highlight the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling food nutrition and security issues at the grassroots level. This sustained cooperation aims to create healthier communities through strategic, data-driven, and participatory interventions,” UPLB said in a press release.

The BIDANI program is an initiative aimed at enhancing community nutrition and food security through collaboration with LGUs.

Under the MOA, the UPLB BIDANI Network Program will work together with the LGUs in addressing local nutrition-related challenges through key components such as Barangay Integrated Development Approach (BIDA), Barangay Management Information System (BMIS), and Participative Nutrition Enhancement Approach (PNEA).
