Adamson University to host UAAP S85 with the theme “RISE AS ONE” which will begin on October 1 to be televised on Cignal TV, their partner broadcast station.

Adamson University will lead the 85th season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines which is set to return next month with the theme “RISE AS ONE.”

The collegiate league is back for the second straight season and will be held for the calendar year starting October 1 following the successful comeback of the 84th season from March to June.

“After the last UAAP Season made us Fully Alive and created Champions for Life, UAAP Season 85 is hoping to call the entire community to Rise As One,” said UAAP Season 85 president Fr. Aldrin Suan, CM of Adamson University.
“It’s been two years since the COVID-19 pandemic happened and has yet to end. Together, we are looking to rise as a nation, helping build a better future for a brighter tomorrow.”

With their continuing partnership with Cignal TV, Suan added that the UAAP is set to bring back “traditions” which were halted the past seasons due to COVID-19 restrictions, one of which is the holding of televised games on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

“As we get back to normalcy, we will be going back to the ‘original’ days of the UAAP pre-pandemic which is holding our televised games on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This season, we are also not just looking to have accomplished a ‘good hosting year’ for Adamson University but begin traditions that will be passed on from host to host for seasons to come,” Fr. Suan added.

In aiming for normalcy, this might mean that the highly anticipated opening and closing ceremonies might possibly be held under normal circumstances with a live audience but still observing proper health protocols.

More importantly, sports that were held back during the bubble era might now be included in the sports calendar.
