A self- published author advises those who would want to follow her path to persevere and keep going even if it takes some time to achieve their goals.

SELF-PUBLISHED authors are currently gaining traction, especially with traditional publishing being disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Izzy Matias, a self-published Filipina author, has published her debut novel, “The Hush Society Presents…” on Amazon just this year.

The novel ranked as a #1 New Release for several weeks in the Teen & Young Adult Music eBooks section of Amazon.

It is a coming-of-age novel about Cameron Evans, a musician who dived in the world of secret shows in his plight of fulfilling his dreams as a standout musician.

He has to face his self-destructive fears and take control of them before those take control of him.

Matias started writing her novel in high school as a hobby. It was her way of pursuing her passions in both writing and music.

She used to run a music blog about concerts she attended. Later on, she realized that she wanted to turn blogging into a career so she shifted the way she dealt with blogging into seeing it from a business perspective.

She has solid advice for aspiring authors: “Even if it takes a long time to achieve your aspiration, if it’s something you want, keep going. Take a chance on your dreams and make the most of the opportunities available to you or create an opportunity for you to achieve your dreams. There’s never a linear path to get to where you want to be, but I believe if you keep going, you’ll get there eventually.”

One of the ways she fulfills this passion of hers in blogging is by teaching other people how to build an online business with their blogs through coaching and an online course. (EFO)
