Conde Nast Traveller, a travel magazine, recognized the Philippines as the 10th friendliest country for its hospitality and distinct tourist spots.

Conde Nast Travelers 2022 Readers' Choice Awards named the Philippines the tenth "friendliest country in the world."

The magazine said that the country was recognized for its friendliness, proof of how famous Filipino hospitality is alive and kicking.

“The country has often been praised for its seemingly effortless ability to lavish genuine hospitality on visitors, foreigners or expatriates,” Philippine Star quoted the magazine.

The Department of Tourism (DoT) also affirmed that the country secured the spot as among the friendliest country because of the Filipinos’ warmth and lavish genuine hospitable nature.

The country is also being praised as it is “peppered with majestic mountainscapes, decorative churches, and sprawling sandy beaches”.

The Philippines also has unique and notable tourist spots such as the Ifugao’s Banaue Rice Terraces which is a part of the “Eight Wonders of the World”, the Chocolate Hills in Bohol, Fort Santiago in Manila, and the Kawasan Falls in Cebu.

Additionally, Conde Nast Traveler has given the Philippines accolades including “best islands” recognition for Boracay and Palawan.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the country resumed tourism in February. As of this month, it had received over 1.7 million visitors, exceeding the DoT's year-end target for tourist arrivals.

The government also relaxed pandemic travel restrictions, such as mandatory testing and quarantine, but only for those who have been completely vaccinated against COVID-19.
