Leaders of various transport groups in a press briefing on Wednesday, October 11, in Quezon City to notify the public that they will not join the scheduled transport strike.
This is to show their support for the suspended Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Chief Teofilo Guadiz. Transport groups officials said that during the longest time they worked with the suspended LTFRB Chief, they did not encounter any illegal transactions. Instead, they have accused the former LTFRB Executive Assistant, Jeffrey Gallos-Tumbado, who was the apparent whistleblower, of asking them for P25,000 per unit for a franchise.
