Despite their opposing views to other issues such as the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP), various transport groups in Metro Manila have found a common ground when it comes to motorcycle taxis.

During a press conference held in Quezon City Monday, March 25, these groups called on the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to reconsider its moves to expand motorcycle taxi operations and allow 10,000 additional slots for Transportation Network Vehicle Services (TNVS). According to them, the LTFRB's move threatens the livelihood of current drivers and allegedly disregards the quality and safety of the transport ecosystem in the country, as it will purportedly flood the roads with more TNVS and motorcycle taxis, thereby contributing to heavier traffic.
