Many families spend their Holy Week traveling or lounging at the beach with extended relatives. However, tragedy struck a family with the loss of a little boy on Maundy Thursday, March 28.
The family resided in Pope Francis Village, Barangay 99, Tacloban City and were having a fun time at Mahusay Shoreline Beach, San Jose.
In the midst of the celebration, the adults lost sight of their 8-year old boy. The minor later drowned and rescuers failed to revive the child and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Religious and superstitious believers pointed out that tragedy often happens during the Holy Week long vacation. Hence, it was not advisable to leave the safety of your homes other than to commemorate the sacred week through traditional ways.
