The Cebuana beauty outlasted 43 other candidates in the Miss World Philippines pageant and will represent the Philippines in the 70th Miss World slated this December.
Tracy Maureen Perez was named Miss World Philippines 2021 at the coronation night yesterday (September 3) at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center.
The runners-up are Riana Pangindian of Pasig City as first princess, and Ganiel Krishnan of Cavite as second princess.
The Cebuana beauty outlasted 43 other candidates in the Miss World Philippines pageant and will represent the Philippines in the 70th Miss World slated on 16 December 2021 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Cebu City has struck two crowns in the past week with Perez for Miss World Philippines and Beatrice Gomez for Miss Universe Philippines.
It was her wit and intelligence that won over the judges during the question and answer portion. She was asked for her thoughts on what everyone should learn from the pandemic.
"After this pandemic, I hope that we never take for granted the family that we have, taking care of our health, and taking care of the people that protect us— our leaders, our frontliners. We should always give importance to those people. We may not see the efforts that they give out, but most definitely, they are our modern heroes and for that, we should always be grateful and we should always stick with them and pray for them," she answered confidently.
Former Miss World Philippines Michelle Dee had a two-year reign because of the pageant being postponed due to the pandemic. This year, Miss World Philippines 2021 was postponed several times due to restrictions brought about by surges in COVID-19 cases.
Alongside the title winner, six other women were crowned and will represent the Philippines in their respective international competitions abroad.
Kathleen Paton was crowned Miss Eco Philippines, Emmanuelle Vera as the Reinahispanoamericana Filipinas, Miss Tourism Philippines is Trisha Martinez, Miss Environment Philippines Michelle Arceo, Miss Multinational Philippines to Shaila Rebortera, and Tatyana Austria for Miss Eco Teen Philippines.
Miss Supranational Philippines 2021 Dindi Pajares, who was earlier chosen from this batch of candidates as the country’s representative to the Miss Supranational 2021 pageant last August was formally crowned at the event.
