"Tino" has caused only minimal damage to airports in Visayas, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

In a statement Wednesday, November 5, the CAAP said based on the initial situational reports, several airports under its supervision experienced minor structural impacts, but no major infrastructure damage or aviation-related incidents were reported.

Some of the airports that sustained damage from the typhoon are:

  • San Vicente Airport's Airport Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) station was inundated by floodwaters.
  • Borongan Airport's terminal building roof sustained minor damage.
  • Hilongos Airport's glass door and ceiling in its pre-departure area entrances are broken.
  • Guiuan Airport experienced a minor gutter and roofing issue.

"We have already deployed our personnel on the ground to assess any damaged facilities and ensure immediate repair actions. We are also closely coordinating with our area managers for timely updates and swift response," CAAP Director General Raul del Rosario said.

The CAAP worked closely with local government units and partner agencies to ensure the safety and security of all passengers.

In another development, Cebu Pacific (CEB) has informed its passengers that recovery operations across their network are progressing well. All its aircraft and crews have returned to their scheduled bases.

However, the airline said, while the weather and its operations are improving, some flight changes may continue to take place.

The airline strongly advises its passengers not to proceed to the airport unless they have confirmed bookings for flights which are currently still planned to operate.

Cebu Pacific urged passengers to monitor the status of their flights via https://www.cebupacificair.com/flight-status or on the CEB mobile app and update passenger contact details via Manage Booking portal https:www.cebupacific.com/manage-booking .
