Like most of her movies shown in cinemas, actress Jaclyn Jose's wake at the Arlington Memorial Chapels was a crowd-drawer.

It is because Jaclyn, Mary Jane Guck in real life, was a legend.

Jose was an artist, first and foremost, who was serious and exemplary in her craft.

She was a kind and generous person as well, publicly and privately.

She would share her blessings with the downtrodden crew and colleagues who were in need without fanfare like Janice Jurado when the latter went under knife due to breast cancer.

At the time of her death, Jaclyn was a noted and well-sought after thespian every step of the way.

Jose died of myocardial infarction or a heart attack as pronounced by her daughter Andi Eigenmann in a press conference two days after her mother's demise.

On the second night of the wake, ABS-CBN gave her a tribute.

It was led by Primetime King Coco Martin who regarded Jaclyn as his big sister.

Coco's solo re-entry in the movies via "Masahista" directed by Brillante Ma. Mendoza was supported by Jaclyn.

According to Coco in his necrological speech, it was Jose who paved the way in his entry and signing up with ABS-CBN.

That is why, Martin said, he is indebted to the late actress.

Jaclyn was very active in Coco and ABS-CBN's "Batang Quiapo" during the time of her death.

Although she wasn't in the cast of "Ang Probinsiyano,” many of its cast were also in the homage.

The other cast members of the Kapamilya action capers who attended Jaclyn's wake were Christopher de Leon, Lorna Tolentino, Jess Evardone, John Estrada, Julio Diaz, among others.

Other mourners who were around that night were Jaclyn's half-sister Veronica Jones, Abby Asistio, Jake Ejercito, Jerika Ejercito, Pinky Suarez, Ara Mina, Cristine Reyes, Glenda Garcia, Maxene Eigenmann, Bing Pimentel, Ricky Davao, Melissa Mendez, Claudine Barretto, among others and members of the movie press Anthony Solis, Benny Andaya, Alice Vergara, Art Tapalla, Linda Cabuhayan, Allan Diones, Gerry Olea, Rose Garcia, Gorgy Rula and many more.
