Even if “An Baga sa Dalan (The Red Trails)” didn’t win any award at the recently concluded 2024 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival awards night at the Cinema 1 of the Ayala Malls in Manila Bay, the search for the still missing persons in the Sag-Od massacre in Las Navas in Northern Samar continues.
This was announced by the camp of the film production and some knowledgeable persons in the local movie industry.
“An Baga sa Dalan (The Red Trails)” is a short film about the massacre of farmers, workers and community organizers by armed men in Las Navas, Northern Samar in 1981.
According to veteran entertainment journalist Art Tapalla who is from Hilabaan, Dolores, Eastern Samar, the desaparecidos of the carnage are still being searched.
“Grabe and nangyari d’yan sa Las Navas noong Martial Law. Kaya ngayon, umaasa pa rin sila na makikita ang ibang biktima ng masaker (What happened in Las Navas during Martial Law was terrible. Until now, the people are still optimistic they will still find their missing kith and kin),” said Art.
“An Baga sa Dalan” is directed by Mariel Ritchie Jolejole and Ronino Dolim and is slated to be screened in other theater circuits in the country.
