Tayabas City kicks off activities for Children’s Month

In accordance with national government’s aim to promote children’s rights, the City Government of Tayabas kicks off National Children’s Month Celebration.

TAYABAS CITY, Quezon- THE city government here has formally launched activities and competitions that highlight the rights and protection of children in the city amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anchored on the theme ‘New Normal na Walang Iwanan: Karapatan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan,’ the activities and contests are aimed to boost the advocacies of Department of Social and Welfare and Development (DSWD) - Tayabas and its partners on the campaigns for the protection of children and promotion of rights.

Aside from a motorcade led by the local Social Welfare and Development Office, the local government also held a workshop on storytelling and basic puppetry titled “Child Development Workers relative to 87th National Book Week Celebration. “

The Quezon Provincial Library and Tayabas City Public Library staff spearheaded the training at Casa Communidad de Tayabas.

The local government also held a talent exposition of children from various child development centers where the little ones showed off their talents, as well as a Children’s Congress in Barangay Silungang Bayan where Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Aileen Co Edades and Maria Tresha Ursolino ofUniversity of Los Banos (UPLB)spoke about children’s rights and development.
