A female tattoo artist missed a chance to participate in a competition in Malaysia due to the discovery of marijuana in her possession.

The passenger, identified as 26-year-old Jasmine Adaoal from Baguio City, was stopped by the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) screener at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 final security check on Wednesday, April 3.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Inter Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (PDEA-IADITG) said that Adaoal was unaware of the rigorous monitoring and law enforcement actions taken to combat illegal drug activities at the airport.

PDEA said the passenger was leaving for Kota Kinabalu via AirAia flight, but during the screening process, authorities found a Swiss knife, a scissor, and a plastic sachet containing marijuana leaves weighing 3.8 grams valued at P456.00.

PDEA authorities added that Adaoal's arrest serves as a reminder of the consequences of violating drug laws and the importance of adhering to security protocols when traveling internationally.
