It’s an open book that award-winning actor Phillip Salvador—a true blue Taclobanon because his dad, the Great Showman Lou Salvador, Sr. is from Tacloban City--is very close to the Dutertes.
Since day one of the reign of the former president of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte, Phillip was already running around with one of the most powerful families in the country, particularly in Davao City.
It was through Bong Go, one of the senators of the land, that Salvador was thrusted into the Dutertes and their relationship became family.
That is why Ipe is one of the affected people when political mudslinging was thrown on Sara Duterte.
These days, Sara is pictured as a culprit in the mess being investigated by Congress when she was still the Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd).
“Hindi po magnanakaw si Inday Sara (She is not a thief),” exclaimed Ipe in his speech during the Villasanta Clan Reunion held at Mom’s Backyard in Lopez, Quezon.
“Maniwala po kayo sa akin. Kilala ko si (Believe you me. I know) Vice-President Sara,” added the protegee of National Artist for Film Lino Brocka, a political activist when he was still alive.
Ipe surprisingly appeared at the Villasanta event all the way from Mindanao. “Galing po ako sa Mindanao. Umuwi lang ako sa amin at pagkatapos ay dumiretso ako rito sa inyong reunion. Hindi ko lang talaga mahindian si Boy (Villasanta). Lalo pa akong bumilib kay Boy nang sabihin niyang ‘We cannot promise you anything but our hospitality.’ Matinong tao si Boy. Hindi siya peke. Totoong tao siya (I came all the way from Mindanao. I only went home to change clothes and then I travelled by land straight to your reunion. I couldn’t say no to Boy. My belief in him manifolded when he invited me and said you could only provide hospitality. Boy is a sane person. He isn’t fake. He’s a real person),” gushed Phillip in his short but sharp talk.
Lopez is a long travel by more than three hundred kilometers from Manila.
Thank you, Ipe, for making the Villasantas happy during their family get-together.
