RIZAL Governor Nina Ricci Ynares, who is only in her first term, scored way higher than her counterparts in the provinces encompassing the Calabarzon region, according to a survey commissioned by Hypothesis Philippines.
With no previous experience in local governance, Ynares scored a whopping 95.9 percent overall job performance rating, a close second to veteran Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas, who has been at the helm of the provincial capitol as provincial chief executive since 2016 – a position he previously served from 1995 until 2004.
Mandanas received a rating of 96.4 percent in the poll conducted last month. The survey, according to Hypothesis Philippines, involved 10,000 respondents in Calabarzon who were between 18 to 70 years old and randomly selected.
Rounding out the top 5 were Quezon Gov. Helen Tan with a rating of 93.2 percent, Laguna Gov. Ramil Hernandez with 92.8 percent, and Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla with 91.5 percent.
Previously, the Rizal provincial chief executive, the daughter of political kingpin Ito Ynares, served as Manila Hotel Director (from 2016 to 2021) before she was appointed to the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) as a member of the Board of Trustees.
Meanwhile, Rizal 1st district Rep. Michael John Duavit notched the top spot in Calabarzon’s list of working congressmen. He garnered 94.3 percent.
Not far behind is Rizal 3rd district Rep. Jose Arturo Garcia with 94 percent, and Laguna Rep. Marlyn Alonte is at the third spot with a 93.5 percent job performance rating.
The sampling margin of error was +/- 1, it said.
