The Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) broke ground for the construction of Anonas Station and Camp Aguinaldo Station headed by Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista and Defense Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Photo shows the parties involved making a sake toast for the project. Contract Package 103 (CP103) is a Civil Works – Build Only Contract for two (2) underground stations (Anonas and Katipunan, now referred to as Anonas and Camp Aguinaldo) and tunnels situated within Quezon City with a total route length of 6.604 km which connects Quezon City and Pasig City. Part of the tunnel works include two construction methods such as the two tunnel boring machines (TBMs) from Japan, and the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM). Present in the groundbreaking were: AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Andres Centino; Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kazuhiko Koshikawa; JICA Chief of Representative Sakamoto Takema; Sumitomo Mitsui C.C.L Project Director Mr. Hitoshi Yamaji; Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte; Economic Minister Daisuke Nihei of the Embassy of Japan and Sumitomo Mitsui Managing Executive Officer Hitoshi Yamaji.
