Students get additional cash aid from Lopez LGU

According to the local government unit of Lopez, Quezon, from P2,500 cash assistance per semester, they will provide financial aid to scholars to P5,000 or P10,000 per year.

LOPEZ, Quezon – To cushion the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on students, the local government of this town has increased its cash assistance to college and graduate school students last November 18.

At least 898 college and graduate school students were given P5,000 cash assistance under its Municipal Education Financial Assistance Program called Care for Responsible, Active and Progressive Students (KE-RAU)

According to the local government, from P2,500 cash assistance per semester, they will provide financial aid to scholars to P5,000 or P10,000 per year.

The distribution of cash assistance was spearheaded by Mayor Rachel Ubana and members of the Sangguniang Bayan, led by Vice Mayor Ma. Adeline Lee.

Aside from additional financial assistance, the local government has also opened its program for needy residents studying abroad.

Those who take post-graduate studies such as masters and doctorates can also become scholars.

The local government also provided financial assistance for their constituents studying for board exams.

The students are very grateful for the change in the scholarship program of the local government.

According to them, the local government's educational programs have greatly helped them overcome the challenges of learning amid the pandemic.
