A student pilot was killed after the plane he was riding crash-landed in Bauang, La Union, according to civil aviation authorities.
A light aircraft has crashed in La Union Wednesday (May 26), killing a student pilot, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
According to CAAP’s initial report, a Tecnam P-2010 aircraft with registry number RP-C8230 was piloted by a 25-year-old student from the First Aviation Academy (FAA) in Subic Bay International Airport (SBIA).
The student pilot was conducting a solo cross-country flight when it crash landed at Barangay Urayong Bayan in Bauang, La Union.

CAAP said that "as of 2 p.m. today, investigators Ranier Allan Ronda and Harry Paradero from CAAP Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board (AAIIB) have been dispatched to help determine the cause of the accident."
"The student pilot carrying the Tecnam P-2010 that crashed in La Union today, 26 May, was confirmed to have perished.
The body of the pilot was retrieved by the townspeople of La Union at the crash site," it added.
