Physical transactions at some offices of the Social Security System (SSS) will be limited following the recent spike in COVID-19 cases.

The number coding system is also implemented in the said branches and offices, which provides prescribed transaction days for SSS members, claimants, and employers based on the 10th digit of their SS or ER ID

IN light of the current surge in COVID-19 cases, the Social Security System (SSS) is limiting the capacities of its offices by 50 percent in areas under the current "GCQ bubble."

In a statement, SSS said it will cut the operational capacity or the number of its employees who will be allowed to report physically in Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Rizal.

The same restrictions will be put in place at its offices in Baguio City, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Tacloban City, Davao City, Iligan City, and Lanao del Sur

The number coding system is also implemented in the said branches and offices, which provides prescribed transaction days for SSS members, claimants, and employers based on the 10th digit of their SS or ER ID.

These are: 1 and 2 every Monday, 3 and 4 every Tuesday, 5 and 6 every Wednesday, 7 and 8 every Thursday, and 9 and 0 every Friday.

SSS President and CEO Aurora Ignacio said the move aims to minimize the risk of exposure of the transacting public and its employees to COVID-19 as cases in the country surge over the past few days.

SSS pensioners and members are urged to utilize the agency's online and mobile servics for their transactions.

Announcements and other information are posted on official SSS accounts on Facebook and YouTube at “Philippine Social Security System,” Instagram at “mysssph,” and on Twitter at “PHLSSS,” and in the SSS Viber Community at “MYSSSPH Updates.” (ONT)
