TAYABAS CITY, Quezon - The Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) will soon have a new headquarters after a donation from the owner of a major shipping company of a piece of property in Tayabas City.
Through the generous donation of a three-hectare property in Barangay Putol by Marian Reyes, owner of Starhorse Shipping Lines, QPPD Director P/Col. Romulo Albacea expressed his hopes of a bigger headquarters that will help the provincial police force in its mandate to maintain peace and order in Quezon.
Aside from the planned new QPPO headquarters, the property is also expected to house all the offices of different national support units of the PNP such as the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), and the Anti-Cyber Crime Unit.
Currently, QPPO has its headquarters inside Camp Guillermo Nakar in Lucena City.
Calabarzon Police Director P/BGen. Hanzel Marantan personally thanked Reyes during his recent visit to the planned site of the new QPPO headquarters.
The decorated police general and pride of "Kabalikat" Class of 1998 visited the site in compliance with the instruction of PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Nartates, who also ordered him to expedite the land transfer to the PNP in preparation for the immediate construction of the QPPO building along with other police facilities.
Tayabas City Mayor Anthony "Piwa" Lim, who was also present during the general's visit, also pledged to provide assistance to the project.
The much-awaited QPPO headquarters will be built as soon as the budgetary requirements are provided by the PNP, officials added.
