SANTA CRUZ, Zambales —At least 2,000 residents in this northernmost town of this province received medical, legal and other forms of assistance under the "Bagong Pilipinas, Mini Sebisyo Fair" held on March 9 at the Barangay Lipay Elementary School.

The one-day fair was a collaboration between Zambales 2nd District Rep. Doris "Nanay Bing" Maniquiz and the Tingog Party List under the leadership of Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez and House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.

During the event, the beneficiaries were given free consultation/check-up, free circumcision, free eye check-up and reading glasses, free dental check-up and tooth extraction, free ECG, free urinalysis, free blood check-up, free X-ray, free surgery, free haircut, and free legal services.

In her speech, Maniquiz appealed to healthy and willing residents to donate their blood in exchange for food packs.

The blood donation drive was a collaboration with the National Red Cross, to expedite the provision of blood to those in need in our province, the congresswoman said.

Unity and leadership

Maniquiz recognized the unity and leadership of those involved in the project, stressing that the cooperation of local organizations and officials, especially the support of Governor Hermogenes "Jun" Ebdane and Romualdez, made the project successful.

"Let us not forget the support given by the Tingog Party List, together with the household of Speaker Romualdez, Cong. Yedda Marie, for the many more upcoming aid and funds they have brought here to benefit more people in our province," Maniquiz added.

The lady solon also sought additional support from the citizens for the senators whom she said "tirelessly support" each program she brings to the province, including Senator Sonny Angara, Senator Nancy Binay, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Senator Bong Go, Senator Lito Lapid, Senator Loren Legarda, Senator Imee Marcos, Senator Aquilino Pimentel, Senator Raffy Tulfo, and Senator Mark Villar.

Maniquiz then expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all the staff, volunteers, leaders, and everyone who helped and attended the fair.

"Our assistance does not end here. Therefore, we will bring our Bagong Pilipinas, Mini Serbisyo Day, to every town in the Second District of Zambales. We will bring free medical, financial, and legal services to our fellow countrymen," she said.
"Rest assured that the good, comfortable, and efficient service is just starting with the help of Nanay Bing, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and Tingog Party List," she added.
