Quezon City Treasurer Edgar Villanueva sees a million of revenue annually from Skyway Stage 3.
The Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 project, intended to relieve traffic along EDSA and other arterial highways in the north and south of Metro Manila, is expected to generate ₱50 million in annual revenue, according to Quezon City Treasurer Edgar Villanueva, who reported that he has put up a team to begin discussions with the project proponent, Citra Central Expressway Corporation.
“We want to let them know that we will impose the corresponding business taxes on the project,” Villanueva said.
“We expect to collect ₱50 million per annum or more than that,” Manila Standard quoted Villanueva.
The skyway stage 3 project is an 18.30-kilometer (km) elevated expressway with two by three (2x3) lanes from Buendia Avenue in Makati City to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Buendia to Sgt. Rivera Street corner A. Bonifacio Avenue, Quezon City, which is part of the Skyway stage 3 project. Bonifacio to NLEX, Balintawak, Quezon City; and 2 by 3 lanes elevated roadway to the NLEX-South Luzon Expressway Connector Road project in the vicinity of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
“If you remember, the Skyway project did not operate at once because of its testing period. We are now trying to mark when its operation started. We, through our legal team, will send communications,” Villanueva said.
He also mentioned how the Skyway project has used portions of Quezon City as its entry and exit points.
