Calbayog City, Samar — On November 22, 2024, the SIBOL Program delivered financial assistance to 3,000 micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) owners at a payout event held at the Socio-Cultural Center of Northwest Samar State University.

The SIBOL Program seeks to empower local business owners by offering support through a blend of government initiatives, private sector partnerships, and significant capital investments.

SIBOL, which stands for Start-up, Investments, Business Opportunities, and Livelihood, is specifically aimed at strengthening the foundations of MSMEs and fostering growth for startup businesses.

Each selected MSME owner received PHP 5,000 in financial aid through the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, marking a province-wide effort to bolster small businesses in Samar.

During the payout, beneficiaries gathered at Northwest Samar State University, grateful for the financial boost, which many noted will help them grow and sustain their businesses.

With this event, the SIBOL Program demonstrates the government’s commitment to directly supporting MSMEs, crucial players in the local economy, and ensuring they have the resources needed to thrive.

By converging government resources with private sector backing, SIBOL exemplifies a collaborative approach to economic development and resilience, providing meaningful support to Samar’s entrepreneurial community.
