According to DepEd Order No. 29-2021, this year’s Christmas vacation would last from December 20 to January 2, or a period of 13 days.

This year, students still coping with education under the “new normal” during the Covid-19 pandemic will have less that two weeks to take a break from learning.

The Department of Education (DepEd) has announced this year’s Christmas break schedule for academic year 2021-2022.

According to DepEd Order No. 29-2021, this year’s Christmas vacation would last from December 20 to January 2, or a period of 13 days.

Classes would resume on January 3, 2022.

Due to the compressed school year, conduct of modular learning activities on Saturday was approved for academic year 2021-2022, which began last September 13.

The current school year consists of 209 school days and will end on June 24, 2022.

All Souls' Day, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve, which had traditionally been proclaimed as special non-working holidays, will now be considered working days under Presidential Proclamation No. 1107 recently signed by President Rodrigo Duterte.

According to the proclamation, this will help the country in recovering from the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic by increasing economic production and reducing job disturbance.
