The Megastar did it again.
When Sharon Cuneta guested in "An Evening with the Stars: Celebrating the Stars who Continue to Light our Way" held at the Foro Intramuros with no less that President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and the First Lady, Liza Araneta Marcos in attendance, Sharon between her spiels the opportunity to twit Bongbong.
"Sir, I only have one vice president. My date tonight. Mali (Wrong) your choice, no (right)?" Cuneta teased the President, obviously referring to Sara Duterte who was his running mate as vice president during the 2022 presidential elections.
Then, the singer-actress added, "Basta (It just is), Mr. President, you have my support."
On occasions like this, did Sharon really have to say that?
In the past, especially in front of the television cameras, Sharon has been very candid about her spiels but they were all well-meaning.
According to entertainment writer and editor Art Tapalla, Shawie was too casual in proclaiming het predilection.
"Taklesa si Sharon (She is tactless)," commented Art.
"Natatawa ako kay Sharon. Very Sharon Cuneta talaga ang ginawa niya (I am smuse with her. What she did was really herself)," added Tapalla who is very clever in his judgement.
"It was uncalled for," quipped Art who was a former Duterte rooter but changed his liking for the ex-president when he found out the real character of the old man.
But here Sharon had Sara in mind.
"Basta, maganda rin nasabi niya, at least, she was true to herself (It just is, it's good she was able to articulate it). Very Sharon Cuneta," chuckled Tapalla who was once charged with libel by Sharon.
On the other hand, a certain Elsie Albos said that Sharon was okay.
"Oo naman, Sharonian ako (Yes, I am a Sharon fan," said Elsie.
For me, it was a candid thought that Sharon had articulated.
It was her real sentiment.
Anyway, the other entertainers who came and participated in the show were Ruffa Gutierrez, Gary Valenciano, Paolo Valenciano, Pokwang, Pinky Amador, Sofronio Vasquez, among other guests.
