The Senate leadership remains undecided on whether to incorporate the Bagong Pilipinas hymn and pledge into their regular flag-raising ceremonies, despite the House of Representatives' plans to adopt the practice.

Senate President Francis Escudero expressed personal openness to including the hymn and pledge, but indicated that the Senate secretariat is still in the process of assessing the matter.

"I have yet to receive their recommendation and/or comments," Escudero stated.

According to a memorandum dated June 26, the House has instructed the recital of the Bagong Pilipinas hymn and pledge during their monthly flag-raising ceremony.

"All Departments and Offices are hereby enjoined to recite the Bagong Pilipinas hymn and pledge during the monthly flag-raising ceremony," the memorandum signed by House Secretary General Reginald Velasco read.

The Bagong Pilipinas concept originates from the Marcos administration, portraying governance as principled, accountable, dependable, and supported by cohesive societal institutions.
