How on Earth could cable cars thrive in Metro Manila, considering that the Philippines is in the typhoon belt and Metro Manila is prone to flooding. But this crazy idea came from actor-turned- senator Robin Padilla, as a solution to traffic congestion.

To ease traffic congestion, particularly in Metro Manila, Senator Robin Padilla suggested installing cable cars.

In response to Senator JV Ejercito's plea for the railway system to be improved, Padilla instead broached during Tuesday's plenary session:

Padilla pointed out that poor traffic contributes to inadequate national growth. He also stated that good transportation system may reduce traffic, and improving the railroads is another option.

The actor-turned-senator pointed out that trains are necessary given the country's geographical position.
