Do you know that the so-called Sprint Queen during the 1980s sports era of the Philippines is a resident of Santa Rosa, Laguna?
Elma Muros, a native of Magdiwang, Romblon, now married to a Posadas is a contented wife and mother in the heart of the idyllic Santa Rosa.
This is according to action-drama director Jose "Kaka" Balagtas who is known for films like "Magdaleno Orbos," "Masamang Damo," "Anak ng Kumander," to name only a few.
"Kaka" (a pet name he earned from his colleagues who named him as a senior guy from the Tagalog regions, specifically, Nueva Ecija, where an elder man is addressed as "Kaka" as an endearment title) is a fellow Santa Rosa resident if not neighbor of Elma.
"Siya ang kasunod kong project. Ipepelikula ko ang kanyang buhay. Nagkakausap na kami (She's my next project. I will translate her life onscreen. We are already talking about it)," said Kaka.
"Makulay ang buhay ni Elma. Siya 'yong kalaban ni Lydia de Vega noon sa (Elma's life is colorful. She was the competitor of the late Lydia de Vega in the) marathon," recalled Balagtas.
During the Marcos Sr. administration, Muros was also a winning athlete in the track and field game.
At the moment, Kaka is contemplating on who would play Elma on the big screen.
"Siyempre, 'yong athletic din ang porma. Si Kathryn Bernardo sana. Pero puwede kaya siya? Tingnan natin (Of course, I want an actress who is athletic type. I would love Kathryn Bernardo. But would she be willing to do it? Let's wait and see)," the veteran director smiled.
