How many times has she cried over election loss, privately and even publicly, since the day she entered the political arena after being known as a comedienne?
The most recent one was when she lost to Amiel Amante in the 3rd congressional district of Laguna Province in 2022.
"Masakit po 'yon pero kinaya ko. Ganito talaga sa pulitika. Parang showbiz na maraming intriga at patalbugan (It was painful but I overcame it. It's like this in politics just like showbiz with a lot of intrigues and competitions)," said Angelica in one of our tete-a-tetes at her San Pablo City residence.
Jones admitted she cried a river in all her election failures and would cite cheating and electioneering as two of the many reasons why she didn't make it in the contest.
"Iniiyak ko na lang ang lahat. Ipinagpapasadiyos ko na lang ang lahat sa Kanya (I cried. I just let God control my life)," she exclaimed.
The 2025 elections are just around the corner and we haven't heard about Angelica's plan if she would join the race or not.
"Depende. Nagmamatyag lang kami (It depends. We are just observing things around us)," she chuckled.
At the moment, Angie (her pet name) is engrossed with her entertainment career.
She has just wrapped up shoots for the GMA Network weekly television drama "Tadhana" hosted by Marian Rivera.
"Ibang klase ang episode namin sa 'Tadhana.' Maraming araw din kaming nag-taping (Our episode is kinda different in this show. Imagine, we taped for a number of days)," informed Angelica.
During typhoon Enteng unleashing his wrath where most places in Metro Manila and the suburbs were flooded, Jones still went to the location.
The title of the episode is "Sugar Daddy" which tackled domestic problems of familial relationships.
"Mas type ko ngayon ang showbiz, makapaghihintay naman ang pulitika (I like showbiz now when politics can wait on the side)," opined the so-called Ms. Flawless.
Meanwhile, her mom Beth Jones is just around to take care of her daughter.
