Catbalogan City, Samar -– The management of the Samar II Electric Cooperative (SAMELCO II) clarified in its official social media account the basis for the 90-day preventive suspension of their General Manager, Joey L. Talon.

According to SAMELCO II, the National Electrification Administration (NEA) Administrative Committee issued the suspension based on a labor case technicality.

Waray iba nga ground o rason. Ini nga Labor case, iginsaka na ha Supreme Court sanglit naglilikay an mga parties involved nga mag komento tungod han pag respeto ha korte o kun sub judice rule", the statement read.
SAMELCO II assured the public that its operations and services will remain unaffected by the development.
The cooperative emphasized that the delivery of electricity to communities will continue seamlessly. The SAMELCO II Board of Directors, together with Acting General Manager Dr. Fernan Paul R. Tan, REE—who also serves as the General Manager of LEYECO II—reiterated their commitment to ensuring uninterrupted service to their consumers.
Despite the controversy, SAMELCO II stressed that its focus remains on fulfilling its mandate to provide reliable electricity service.
