Samareno director-actor Vic Tiro narrates journey as a struggling film artist

After serving as cameraman and editor for the golden jubilee celebration of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Arts and Letters "75 at the Heritage Hotel in EDSA corner Roxas Boulevard last February, Samareno Vic Tiro, considered the Bruce Lee of the Philippines went on as assistant cameraman for polymath, visual artist, mentor and filmmaker Bon Labora's digital ad for an events hall such as Matrix Creation Events Venue in Malakas Street in V. Luna in Quezon City.

Before the shoot of the commercial with sexy actress Vida Verde, Vic acted in a tableau as Padre Damaso in Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan.

While editing the UST Artlets '75 souvenir video, Tiro held an important technical post in the short film "Lako," a foray into drug menace that ruined lives, which stars award-winning actress Sue Prado and a newcomer named Sabrina Sablan.

"Nag-premiere night na kami. Kaya lang, bakit wala kayo ro'n (It already had its premiere showing. Why weren't you there?)," asked Vic.

"Lako," according to Tiro, is an entry of director Jebie Reyes to the 2025 Famas short film category.
