To his last moments, Trevor Magallanes is still married - legally - with Rufa Mae Quinto.
That was one issue the veteran actress clarified, following rumors of annulment and divorce that had hounded the couple before and after Magallanes' demise.
"Mag asawa pa din kami ni Trevor, walang nag file saamin ng annulment (Trevor and I are still married. No one filed an annulment between us)," cleared out Rufa Mae in her Rufa Mae Quinto Magallanes Official Facebook Account.
According to Quinto, she and Magallanes were married in the Philippines on November 25, 2016 in an exclusive reception hall in Quezon City.
Annulment is allowed in the country but nothing was filed from any of the parties.
At the wedding, Rufa Mae was already heavy with a child.
In 2017, Rufa Mae gave birth to Alexandria Athena Magallanes.
The family stayed under one roof in the US until the public witnessed her unceremonious return to show business last year.
It was also at this time that marital woes between Rufa Mae and Trevor began to unravel.
A divorce issue also cropped up
Given the legal sphere of matrimony in the country, there is no divorce here yet.
The idea of divorce came from Trevor himself who was Fil-American.
In his vlogs last year, he mentioned and considered the idea of a divorce and in the US where he resided, divorce is legal. Circumstances surrounding divorce are written in their laws.
As days went on, though, nothing came out of it.
Meanwhile, there were online statements from both Rufa Mae and Trevor about an impending fallout between them but no conclusive utterances were made.
There were even digital "nega posts" (as in negative), all right—as described by the actress and comedienne who requested him to delete them—like Trevor delineating his marriage as a "s--t show."
No divorce, even annulment, were in sight.
In her TV interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda, Rufa Mae once more stressed that neither she nor Trevor filed any one of them.
Until the shocking news stirred the public that Magallanes was dead.
"Ako po ay Widow/ byuda na, shock pa din at nag luluksa po kaming Mag- ina and Salamat po sa lahat ng condolences and Rip and sympathy (I am already a widow, still shocked. Me and my daughter are mourning. Thanks for all the sympathies)," she said.
"Ang sakit (It's painful)," shared the actress.
She beseeched the Lord for strength for her and Athena.
In her Instagram posts and latest FB notes, Rufa Mae assured the public that she would be the one to announce the results of the official investigation of authorities in the death of her husband.
"As the wife of Trev, all information surrounding his passing will come from me. Ang lahat ng detalye ay maaari ko lang maibigay sa tamang oras (All the details will only come from me at the right time)," Quinto wrote on her FB wall.
It's nearing one week after Trevor's demise and no cause has been divulged yet.
