Rose Lin, wife of the so-called financier of anomaly-riddled Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp., was indicted in a Quezon City court for vote-buying.
The Quezon City Fifth District congressional candidate Rose Lin, who is the wife of Lin Weixiongthe so-called financial manager of the anomaly- riddled Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp., has been charged in the Quezon City Prosecutors Office with 290 counts of vote-buying.
The complainants' charge Lin with rampant vote buying that continues in District 5, in Quezon City despite the ongoing investigation by the Commission on Election (Comelec)against the accused.
According to Sarah Villalino of the Nagkakaisang Mamamayan ng Novaliches, the modus operandi of massive vote-buying has increased. The crime allegedly took place in the houses of Lin's so-called leaders.
According to the sworn affidavit of the complainants, individuals under the Nagkakaisang Mamamayan ng Novaliches,Lin's camp allegedly hid the vote -buying practice with terms like ‘aid’ and ‘scholarship’.
Villalino added that as a result of the events and circumstances in their district, they decided to file a lawsuit against Rose Lin.
The complainant further said that Lin's nine other "accomplices" were among the defendants. Some of them are incumbent barangay officials of District 5 who are accused of being involved in vote buying.
