A new socialized housing complex is rising in Calamba City.
This is the Rizal Village I Housing Project, a joint venture of the local government of Calamba City and the Home Development Mutual Fund (PAG-IBIG).
The new housing complex located in Barangay Kay-Anlog forms part of the city’s continuing effort to provide decent shelter for every Calambeño family while supporting the national Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH) program of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).
Calamba City Housing and Settlement Department Community Development Officer III Nona Marielle Reyes said that the project reflects the local government’s long-term vision to uplift the quality of life of its residents by ensuring access to decent shelter and livable communities.
“We will launch a project in partnership with Pag-IBIG here in Calamba City so we are hoping to launch the Rizal Village I and it is a local project which we will include in Pag-IBIG’s program called country side housing initiative,” Reyes stated.
The Rizal Village I Housing Project is designed to accommodate a maximum of 540 housing units upon full completion.
Currently, the city has secured funding for 299 units, with 147 units under construction as part of Phase 1.
Reyes then shared that the project’s first phase is progressing steadily, in which the city government remains hopeful that the next phases will receive continued funding and support to ensure full implementation.
“The construction of the first 147 units is ongoing, and we’re optimistic that the project will continue as planned. This program is not just about building houses, but about creating a community where families can live securely and grow together.”
