At the online show "A2Zenith" hosted by San Pablo City beauty queen-actress Azenith Briones and entertainment writer Obette Serrano being aired at the Water Plus Productions' Facebook every Wednesday at 3 pm, an interesting story unfolded.
A former family driver became the mayor of Rizal, Laguna.
During a program gap when the video interview was being aired, Azenith brought out the fascinating story of a driver-turned-politician.
"Hindi ko matandaan nang sabihin niyang, 'alam ba ninyong naging drayber pa ninyo ako (I couldn't remember when he told me that he used to be our driver)," quipped Azenith.
"Pero nang isa-isahin niya kami na ipinag-drive niya pati na 'yong tiyo namin ng nasira kong asawang si El Rey Reyes na may-ari ng Sulyap Hotel sa San Pablo, do'n ko nakumpirma na siya nga 'yong naging drayber namin (But when he started enumerating the names of his passengers from our family including the uncle of my late husband who owns the hotel in our city, I recalled him and confirmed that he was our former driver)," said Briones.
Mayor Vener Muñoz is indeed the former family driver of the Reyeses, big families in San Pablo.
According to Azenith, Mayor Muñoz is a hardworking and patient person.
"At nangarap siyang makapaglingkod sa kanyang mga kababayan sa (He dreamed to serve his fellow townmates in) Rizal town," Zenith proudly announced.
Mayor Muñoz won his second term as head of the Rizal Local Government Unit (LGU) in Laguna Province in the recent midterm elections.
"Ang wish ko lang kay Mayor Muñoz, lalo pang pag-ibayuhin ang kanyang serbisyo publiko (My only wish for the mayor is to strive more in his public service)," said the beauty queen-actress.
