Agriculture Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban (center), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Atty. Romando Artes and Metro Manila Council and San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora conduct an inspection at Nepa Q-Mart in Quezon City and Agora Market in San Juan City last Tuesday, September 5, for the Simultaneous Joint Monitoring on Mandated Price Ceiling of Rice.
The inspection and monitoring were done to ensure that retailers are following the strict implementation of the mandated price ceiling for rice as mandated under Executive Order No. 39, Series of 2023. This is to prevent price manipulation of traders and retailers as directed by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. Through this mandate, regular-milled rice should be sold only up to P41 per kilogram and well-milled rice will only have a ceiling price of P45 per kilo.
