It’s been a month since the academic year 2024-2025 started and surely college students are already in a whirlwind—juggling their everyday life with school work and other activities that make them sacrifice eating good and quality meals.

Thankfully, one essential of a dormer is a rice cooker that can make meals with a little bit of preparation and a push of a button.

To get you started, we compiled some easy rice-cooker meals from TikTok to level up your boiled egg and rice combo. These recipes will keep your taste buds happy and refuel your energy for a long day with a long list of tasks.

First up, we have a Luncheon Meat Musubi bowl by @groovyfoodies on TikTok. Ingredients and instructions are as follows;

- oil

- 1 can of luncheon meat (chopped into small square sized)

- 1 tbsp sugar

- 1 tbsp soy sauce

- 1 cup of rice and water

You’re going to toast the luncheon meat first and add 1 tbsp of sugar and soy sauce then set aside while you prepare to cook the rice. After preparing the rice, layer the luncheon meat and let it cook in the rice cooker. You can top it off with fried egg, onion chives, or Nori flakes.

If you’re not a rice eater, maybe the Tuna Pesto Pasta by @hannah_yannah will be a good choice for you!

- Pasta of your choice

- Cooking oil

- Minced garlic

- Sliced mushrooms

- Canned tuna

- Salt and pepper

- Pesto sauce

To start, you’re going to boil the pasta for 10 minutes or until it’s cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside to prepare the sauce. Sauté the garlic then add the sliced mushrooms together with the tuna. Season it with pepper and salt then add together the pesto sauce.

Mix and simmer for a few minutes. Once done, put the pasta and mix it with the sauce evenly. You can top it off with parmesan cheese.

There you have it! Your rice cooker isn’t just for rice anymore, this electronic appliance can help you to upgrade your next dorm meals without compromising your tight schedule and starving stomach.
