The Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS), headed by USec Paul Gutierrez (3rd from left), in collaboration with the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), held the National Capital Region leg of the 2023 Nationwide Summit on 'Promoting a Free and Responsible Press for a Safer Media Environment' last Tuesday, at the Bayview Park Hotel, Roxas Boulevard in Manila.
Speakers included, among others: Dante Francis Ang II, CEO of the Manila Times (left); Atty. Persida Acosta, PAO head (2nd from left), and Atty. Hue Jyro Go, PTFoMS chief of staff (right). At lunch break, there was a free legal aid clinic for participating media practitioners and a Freedom Wall to sign manifesting support for media advocacies.
