The Department of Transportation reiterated that it will retain the current public-transport capacity of 50 percent for PUVs in Metro Manila, during the current ECQ until August 20.
AN additional 255 UV Express units will be allowed to operate after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board opened five new routes in Metro Manila.
In accordance with the Memorandum Circular No. 2021-049 released last August 4, the following routes are now open for UV Express vehicles amid ECQ:
N08 G. Tuazon – Ayala (Sampaloc)
N25 BF Paranaque Village (Las Pinas) – Ayala Center
N64 Pasig City – EDSA Central
N69 SM Megamall – Quiapo/ SM Megamall – Quiapo via Ortigas
N52 Sucat – Lawton/Sucat – Park N Ride
N72 SSS Village – Cubao (Farmer’s Plaza/MRT)
Operators will need to secure a QR code from the LTFRB website to be printed and posted on the PUVs.
Additionally, the PUV must have a valid and existing Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) o Application for Extension of Validity and are registered on the Personal Passenger Insurance Policy under the routes listed above.

Passengers in UV express and taxis are allowed only a maximum of two persons per row, including the driver’s seat row.
