The former vice president took his oath as a member of the Aksyon Demokratiko party of presidential candidate and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, Thursday.

AFTER a ten-year absence from politics, broadcast journalist Noli de Castro is once again seeking a new mandate in public service.

The former Vice President took his oath as a member of the Aksyon Demokratiko party, the party of presidential candidate and Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, Thursday (October 6).

De Castro also signed off from his show “Kabayan”, which has run for more than ten years on DZMM and Teleradyo, earlier today.

“Former Vice President and broadcaster Noli de Castro has joined Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso’s Aksyon Demokratiko party,” the post said.

“The 72-year-old broadcaster, who announced his departure from ABS-CBN this morning, is set to run in next year’s senatorial race,” it added.

De Castro, a veteran journalist who was known for his signature line “Magandang Gabi, Bayan” (which later became a magazine show in the 1990’s), first entered politics as senator in 2001, where he topped the senatorial elections with over 16 million votes.

He then ran for Vice President in 2004 under the ticket of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
