Re-elected BHW Partylist vowed to push for better health services delivery, more school clinics and stronger defenses against health risks in bills it would file when Congress resumes, said Representative Angelica Natasha Co.

In a press statement, Barangay Health Workers Partylist and its supportive Federations of barangay health workers nationwide thanked the Filipino voters for expressing their support and giving it the mandate for the next three years in the 19th Congress.

This, even as outgoing President Duterte in his talk to the nation last night, asked the incoming administration to abolish the partylist system.

According to the partial and unofficial results, your BHW Party-list earned 333,510 votes, a significant improvement over the 269,518 votes we garnered in the last 2019 elections, BHW said.

We await the results from the Overseas Absentee Voting and Local Absentee Voting for additional votes we may have already earned from those processes, Co said.

BHW Party-list will focus on making sure the laws it pushed for and will continue to push will be effectively and efficiently implemented by the lead agencies.

We have many more items on our legislative priorities and we will fully exercise with our House colleagues our oversight powers to ensure proper implementation of laws, she added.

We will push for better health services delivery, more school clinics, more accountability from the PhilHealth, service standards for hospitals and barangay health centers, vaccine security and more mandatory vaccines for children and mothers, the partylist added.

BHW partylist will be in close coordination with the Department of Health, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and Department of Social Welfare and Development for more and better training and career development of all sectors in barangay health and wellness.

We shall be working with health professionals as well as barangay volunteers to mend the gap, Co said.

In the 19th Congress, we will further strengthen our working relationships with the BHW Federations and the BHWs serving at the barangays and in remote communities.

We will also deepen our working relations with other sectors of barangay health and wellness, including the caregivers, physical therapists, massage specialists, hair stylists, pedicurists, manicurists, barbers, fitness trainers, and gym entrepreneurs–because all of them have their roles in the wellness and health aspects of their neighbors and clientele.
