Wet weekend in Visayas, Mindanao, and parts of Luzon that will last until next week while the rest of Metro Manila and Luzon will be having fairer weather.

An extension of a low-pressure area (LPA) and a shear line will bring rains in the Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan provinces this weekend, reported the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The LPA was spotted 1,000 kilometers east of southeastern Mindanao and inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The good news though is that the LPA has a slim chance of becoming a tropical cyclone but will still bring rain in most parts of Visayas and Mindanao until next week. People in these areas are told to still be prepared as there is a possibility of flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or amihan will also cause rainfall in several parts of Luzon.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa, Bicol region, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with rains due to amihan. There are also possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon are expected to have better weather, with partly cloudy skies and isolated rain showers.
