LUCENA CITY, Quezon – THE Technical Education Skills and Development Administration (TESDA) recently handed out a total of 163 toolkits to students enrolled at Banahaw Technological College Inc.'s Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) and Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Educations Act (UAQTEA) Diploma Program (BCTI).
TESDA’s Quezon Provincial Office provided toolkits to 116 UAQTEA scholars enrolled in the Diploma Program in Industrial Technology with majors in Automotive Technology, Electrical Technology, and Welding & Fabrication Technology.
TESDA also distributed 47 starter toolkits to Automotive Servicing NC I STEP completers in 2019 and 2020.
The distribution of toolkits to beneficiaries was led by Antonio Canzana, TESDA Quezon representative, and Tommy Christian Abustan of BTCI.
The scholars said the toolkits will allow them to practice their skills at home while also establishing a livelihood or job opportunity.
The Special Training for Employment Program (STEP), according to TESDA-Quezon, is a community-based specialty training program aimed at addressing community needs and promoting employment, notably through entrepreneurial, self-employment, and service-oriented activities.
