The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Quezon does more than just legislate and set the direction for the province.
Under the leadership of Vice Governor Third Alcala, the provincial board proves that it is equally important to highlight and honor exemplary individuals and institutions—champions of excellence, integrity, and meaningful public service.
During the 39th Regular Session, the SP demonstrated its deep appreciation for fellow public servants who brought honor to the province. The SP acknowledged Vinnette Alcala-Naca and Maria Yllana Liwanag-Asistio, both from the 2nd District, for their achievements and new roles within their organizations.
The election of Alcala-Naca as president of the Lady Local Legislators League of the Philippines (4L) Quezon Chapter and the re-election of Liwanag-Asistio as deputy treasurer of the National Movement of Young Legislators stand as testaments to their leadership and genuine commitment to governance.
The SP also took the opportunity to commend local government units and officials who showcased dedication to good governance.
The municipality of Candelaria, led by the Sangguniang Bayan and former Liga ng mga Barangay president Ireneo Boongaling, was recognized as a national finalist in the Local Legislative Awards.
Likewise, the Municipality of Lucban, together with its council and Councilor Marife Hari, was honored for a significant ordinance that earned them distinction at the Gawad Galing Lokal na Batas of the Philippine Councilors League.
Lucena City, under Vice Mayor Roderick Alcala, also became a finalist in the Highly Urbanized City category, proving that at every level of government in Quezon, leaders serve with honesty and excellence.
Nor were private achievers forgotten.
Recognition was also given to global awardee Ms. Jane Cristel Bohol, along with the top students from Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), who stand as beacons for the younger generation, exemplifying the educational excellence found within the province.
These accolades represent something deeper than mere recognition.
They underscore the truth that every achievement, regardless of its scale, is the result of hard work, commitment, and collaborative effort. In challenging moments, acknowledging exceptional service provides a source of encouragement and motivation to many.
The achievements of these awardees serve as a testament to all those in public service. They exemplify the enduring appreciation for good governance, integrity, and compassion.
Above all, may these awards inspire everyone to raise the standard of service for the benefit of every Quezonin.
A government's true success isn't just about how many laws it passes. It's the service's quality and the community spirit it fosters that truly matter.
A salute to the dedicated public servants of Quezon. Mabuhay ang mga Quezonins!
