The clamor for 24 hours of water supply in Quezon province would take another five years before it could be realized.
This was the consensus during the 45th regular session of the Quezon provincial council which held a consultative meeting with the Quezon Metropolitan Water District (QMWD) on May 22.
Council members have requested the QMWD to present its business plans which would be the basis for the implementation of the continuous water supply in Lucena, Tayabas and other cities and municipalities of the province.
The water concessionaire was also asked to heed the communities’ demand for a better water service.
In 2021, Prime Water Quezon Metro and QMWD forged a public-private partnership which involved the recalibration of water services in Lucena, Tayabas and municipality of Pagbilao after the replacement of water pipelines.
