Philippine cinema has just lost again a gem in the art department.
Ma. Cecille Baun, an experienced prosthetics artist in the local movie industry, has died, action star and director Vic Tiro wrote in his Facebook wall.
“Rest in Peace Ma’am Cecille Baun of Philippine Cinema best in Prosthetics,” said Vic in his social media spaces.
"Think of the visual effects, prosthetics and make-up in the films “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” “Darna,” “Oro, Plata, Mata,” among others and Cecille was the artist behind the scary images of the actors and other mise-en-scene.
Baun was also a sought after visual effects artist in some Hollywood movies shot in the Philippines like “Platoon,” “Hamburger Hill,” “Return to the River Kwai,” among others.
