Ria Liza is the current Chairman of the National Innovation Council (NIC), an agency mandated to protect inventions of Filipinos.

Ria Liza' terpsichorean talent, however late in the blooming, was just recently discovered when she celebrated her birthday shindig racently at the Philippine Columbian Association (PCA) hall in Plaza Dilao in Paco, Manila.
In her entrance to the big function room of the venue, Ria Liza with a bevy of dancers clad in Caribbean-inspired attire, swayed into the tune of the vibrant beat typical and common of the tropical island.
Centeno-Canlas did her special entrance number to welcome the many inventors' group that celebrated with her.
Imbentor Masagana is the foremost, umbrella organization of the Centeno-Canlas alliance.
Most of its members and their respective units were gladly one with Ria Liza's aim of promoting and advancing the cause of inventors, the potent forces in the economic pursuits of the country.
One of the new inventions of Ria Liza launched in her birthday gig is tile canvas which served as the painting board of visual artists who joined the party to champion the socio-civic causes of Centeno-Canlas.
The painting exhibit which coincided with Doc Ria's bash was organized by polymath Bon Labora.
Three of the visual artists tapped by Bon to display their art works as celebratory pieces to express the utilitarian purpose of tile canvas were Angel So, Egay Roxas and Life.
"This is the first time that tiles were used as canvases to create worlds and images," said Labora.
Doc Ria was proud to have various artists and inventors in the country gathered for the occasion.
