Solo parents and senior citizens were treated to a day of pampered care during the recent "Pamper a Mom" program hosted by the Quezon Metropolitan Water District (QMWD).

The event, held at the QMWD Compound in Lucena City, Quezon last Sunday, March 15, is part of the water district's slate of activities in celebration of National Women's Month.

More than 50 solo parents and senior citizens from the marginalized sector were given free haircut and coloring, therapeutic massage, manicure and pedicure, and eyebrow contouring, complemented by sumptuous meals, two snacks, and a hearty lunch served throughout the day and raffle prices for the beneficiaries.

According to Imee Tumacder, QMWD's corporate secretary, the initiative was a beacon of care in a world that often overlook those who give the most, bringing together a full day of dedicated services designed to honor and rejuvenate women who shoulder immense daily burdens.

Every gesture of service was a thread stitched by 36 TESDA-trained volunteers, whose skilled hands worked alongside QMWD staff to weave a tapestry of community support.

Their collaborative service was a thread weaving stronger bonds between QMWD and the communities it serves, while the smiles on the beneficiaries’ faces shone as bright as morning sun on dewdrops.

The project stands as a testament to how gender-responsive programs can transform simple gestures of kindness into pillars of dignity and support for those who need it most.
