PWDs get jobs in Taguig City

More than 300 persons with disabilities were given jobs by the local government of Taguig City during the recent job fair at the city.

At least 360 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Taguig City were given jobs and livelihood during the recent job fair of the LGU.


The Job Fair Livelihood Training and Entrepreneurship Program for PWDs was launched on January 28 at Lakeshore Hall in Barangay Bicutan, said Mayor Laarni Cayetano.


Of the applicants, 17 were successfully hired, of which 12 were employed as customer service representatives, two in car cleaning services, and five as Taguig local government staff.


About 225 others participated in the Livelihood Training Program. They were taught to make perfume, fabric conditioner, and dishwashing liquid, and were given starter kits so they could start their business.


Mayor Cayetano thanked the participating private companies namely Teleperformance Philippines, Alorica Philippines, Clean Car Philippines Inc., Simbayanan ni Maria Multi-Purpose Cooperative, The Service Master Company, GenOne Resource and Recruitment, and Dizon Farms for their participation in program.


She also thanked the program organizers led by the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO) in collaboration with the Taguig Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) Taguig, and Taguig Manpower Training Center (TMTC).
